Stick this in your Veto!

I simply can not believe that senate democrats could not muster the nine votes needed to veto proof the S-CHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program) bill voted on today, which proposed a $35B spending increase over 5 years.

The cost of the Iraq war is $2B...PER WEEK! And that was in 2006!!

The program, which currently costs $5B per year, would enable the federal government and the states to subsidize the cost of health coverage for families who find themselves in a "grey area," earning too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private health insurance.

The shrubbery currently inhabiting the oval office has said that the bill, which was passed by a two-thirds majority in congress, encourages families with higher incomes to drop private coverage so that they can get their insurance paid for by the government.

Democratic Congressman John Dingell of Michigan said that more than 90 percent of families covered earn less than $41,300 for a family of four, which is the income range the program was originally designed to help. "There will be no wealthy people covered," Dingell advised.

Is is still possible for the Kinnebunkport Cowboy to redeem himself after screwing the American people (this time it's mostly children) on issue after issue???
