Former Sec. of State Colin Powell's chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson said President Bush was “too aloof, too distant from the details” of postwar planning. Underlings exploited Bush’s detachment and made poor decisions, Wilkerson said.

Wilkerson blamed Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and like-minded aides. He said Cheney must have sincerely believed that Iraq could be a spawning ground for new terror assaults, because “otherwise I have to declare him a moron, an idiot or a nefarious bastard.”

You go Harry! Good end around!! I was just beginning to be impressed by the W. Administration's deft week end pivot and re-capture of the news cycle. That's the way to take the momentum and turn the game around! Good to see the Dems have some balls for a change. Now let's get on the same page, and figure on a somewhat unified direction. The right mix of down home common sense and political guile could really go a long way right now.
